In our private Facebook Group we were asked how we set up our digital downloads safely and securely using gateway pages and using Amazon S3. Therefore I am creating this post to keep the training in a coherent series.
First, let’s address the bit about Amazon S3.
I think it’s a must to use S3 or some type of cloud storage for all files not necessary for operating your website. Examples include your products and backups. You may also be tempted to put purchased PLR on cloud storage, but that just tells me you never plan on using it. LOL… Once uploaded, PLR tends to be forgotten.
So, let’s look at S3.
This first video I created awhile back, but it is still relevant. It is an introduction to Amazon S3.
#1 Why You Need to Start Using Amazon S3
Cloud services like Amazon S3 provides impressive amounts of storage capability at a tiny fraction of the cost of upgrading storage on your traditional hosting. For core data files such as videos, audios, products and even HTML pages, your best bet is to move them to Amazon S3. Cloud storage has many other capabilities, even hosting WordPress sites.
Listen in as I review some reasons to secure your data on Amazon S3.
#2 Using Amazon S3 to Host Video/Audio files for your blog
Here is a simple example where you can use AS3 to host video or audio files for your blog.
